GOD'S PURPOSE IS THAT WE LIKE TO CHRIST

is the summary of the second of 3 topics at the retreat on God's purpose for our lives, in the center JV Silva in soco , San Pedro de Macoris .

Introduction.

When a year starts, we are given making plans and projects, and we ask God to help us meet them. Usually, we do not understand that life does not consist to make our own plans and ask God to help us achieve them. Consist cooperate with God in the plans He has for us.
Jesus shows us exactly, what Father expects of us as children. He is the perfect example. Just as Christ was led, the Father wants us to do (Matthew 3:16,17). I-

The agenda of Christ was written in the sky .

The Lord God was born as the clock marked the hour. Galatians 4:4 says, " But when the compliance of time, God sent his Son, born of woman, born under the law. "Not a day before or the day after, but at the right time Christ came from God to land.

text also teaches that born under the right circumstances (born of woman ... without the intervention male). And in the context of historical appropriate (born under the law = .

The agenda of Christ was written in the sky. When the wine was finished at the wedding of Cana of Galilee, his mother told in the incident, with the intention that he use his power to solve the problem. Jesus said "What you want with me, woman?" It has not been my time.. " should be understood that the Lord did not permit his mother to draw him to do and when to do it, because it chose to do his heavenly father.

His brothers also criticized for not going to the feast of the Passover to make public display of his powers. "Then Jesus said to them: My time has not yet come, but your time is always ready."

Nobody could hasten Jesus or do arrive late, because he acted consents that even the tiniest details are part of a plan of his Father, as when he was two days before going to see Lazarus he was dead (John 11).

Jesus said: " I must work the works of Him who sent me , while it is day ; the night cometh when no man can work " (John 9: 4). That is, he knew he had come (do the work for which I sent ) and had a limited time (while he lasts days). So, he walked steadily, but slowly.

Although at the time of his death, to get the compliance time he set his face to go to Jerusalem ( Luke 9:56).

II - Christ's mission was given in heaven.

He came to do the works that sent him. Luke 4:18,19 details the following: " The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, Because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor, He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted heart, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty the oppressed, to preach the year of the Lord. "

Being in the house of Zacchaeus he said," Today salvation has come to this house, because he also is a son of Abraham . For the Son of Man came to seek and to save what was lost. "(Luke 19:9,10).

is because God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through Him (John 3:17). So Jesus told his disciples: because the Son of Man did not come to destroy men's souls but to save them. ".

His food was doing the will of that shipment and finish the work (John 4:31).

III - We are predestined by God to be like Christ.

" My little children, of whom I travail in birth again until Christ be formed in you" (Galatians 4:19)

"And we know that those who love God all things work together for good, that is, who according to His purpose are called. Because the He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son , that he might be the firstborn among many brethren "(Romans 8:28,29).

This text makes clear that God's plan for our lives includes being conformed (we take the same form) to the image of his son.

We have the mind of Christ (1 Corinthians 2:16). Suffering as he did, with good attitude, without uttering a curse or threats. " To this you were called, because Christ suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps: Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth, who when he was reviled, did not revile; when he suffered, not threaten, but committed Himself to Him who judges righteously. "

Romans 8:28 teaches us that God uses every circumstance of our life (good and bad) for our good, that is, for us like Christ.

So let the word of Christ abound in you (Colossians 3:16, John 15:7). scrutinize and ponder every day (John 5:39; Luke 9:23).

One day I hope to get up and say with Paul: " I am crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me, and I live in flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. "

Meanwhile I identify with this text: "to know Him and the power of his resurrection and the participation of His sufferings, being conformed him in death, if ever attain to the resurrection from the dead. Not that I had already attained, either were already perfect, but I follow after, if I apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus. Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press toward the mark for the the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. So, all we are perfect, be thus minded: and if you feel otherwise, shall reveal even this unto God ... "
